He graduated from the Lagos State University and the Nigerian Law School with 2nd Class Upper Degrees with the distinction of graduating as the best student in Land Law, Public International Law and Jurisprudence from his university. He has a master in commercial law from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban South Africa. He is also a Chartered Accountant with membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and Information Systems and Audit Control Association (ISACA) Illinois USA. He has completed all exams of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN).

Yemi had a brief stint at with the law firm of Udo Udoma and Belo-Osagie and was engaged in the provision of legal advice to a consortium of foreign investors regarding the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) intervention in Nigerian Banks in the summer of 2009. He has also provided advisory services for a Nigerian Telecommunications Company in respect of working capital diminution and foreign currency transactions and was also part of the team that conducted legal due diligence for the acquisition of an energy company.

He has also worked at Templars, a leading commercial law firm where he advised International Energy Companies on debt and equity financing, Parent Company Gurantees, OML Renewals, Power Project Development, Fiscal Regime in the Nigerian Petroleum Industry, Tax aspects of Production Sharing Contracts. He has also advised a diverse range of clients on Companies’ and Personal Income Taxes. He also worked at the premier law firm of Adepetun Caxton-Martins, Agbor and Segun where he advised International Investors on investing in the oil and gas service companies. He also advised lenders on the potentials of the mining industry in Nigeria.
